Story:
In Total War: Shogun 2 you choose from one of 9 (10 with Ikko-Ikki dlc) clans, each with their own unique traits and skills and each with their own RPG-style warlord to lead them. Use a mixture of diplomacy, political manoeuvring, province building, research and special agents such as Ninja assassins or Geisha spies to get your enemies exactly where you want them. An intuitive user interface and a lovingly-created, complex and detailed campaign map make it both easy and enjoyable to build and run cities, recruit and move troops and issue commands – both noble and dishonorable, all with the aim of mastering enemy forces and seizing their lands.

This is the best Total War game ever made, along with the expansion. The only thing that should be improved is the diplomacy, could be a perfect game if it worked better. You could fight incredible medieval fights and with the expansion, even experience firearms. Each faction has it's bonuses, agents of many kinds, you could send units without generals to defend, attack, reinforce.... Always loved defending a castle here against armies 3x times higher with rains of samurai arrows.anarion321

An evolution to the Total War series (and apparently the naming format). The Sengoku era of Japan (and the latter Fall of Samurai expansion) truly bring out a charm out of the game. The sea combat and sieges are difficult to master, but land battles were somewhat simplified into rock-paper-scissors units. And the major change here is that the general is not a hero, but just an element in the background that needs to be protected. But the battles themselves were amazing, especially with one-on-one Samurai battles with fluid choreography. Multiplayer was also fun, wherein the other players don't need to wait all the time but can get to control units in other players' battles. Really great to have experienced that with my brother. As always, would love to get the whole series on GOG one day.

In many ways, Shogun 2 is my perfect Total War game. The strengths and weaknesses of this game have already been criticized, discussed, analyzed, and praised in many reviews. I agree with much of this, be it the motivating “Realm Divide” campaign, the still gorgerous graphics, or the AI, which is good by Total War standards. However, none of these are the reasons why I love this game and wish for nothing more than for it to be released on GOG soon. Shogun 2 is dripping with atmosphere and feels like a unified whole with all its little loving details. The simple but elegant UI, the little videos when a new troop type is recruited, the wonderful ambient music, even the loading screens... this is the feudal Japan I've always wanted to see in a game. But what makes Shogun 2 so special to me is perhaps something that many other players would criticize: the matched combat between individual units. When the battle breaks out, tactical skill is required, and my units need to be maneuvered efficiently, I love to zoom in close and watch the individual soldiers fight it out, every single time. It's not efficient, and it might even cause me to lose a battle. But in those moments, I become a child again, just like many years ago when I first discovered and played this wonderful game. Please make it happen GOG.
My favorite game from Total War series, for many reasons. This game had a great atmosphere, you felt the limitations and advantages of feudal Japan. Each new unit really mattered! You felt how important was the invention of Yari (Japanese sword in a form of spear), I felt that length of handle really mattered and you could see it in animations. In the expansions of the Fall of the Samurai, first gunpowder units game late in the game and you could feel the terror on the battlefields. Then absolutely beautiful, actually strategically challenging defense/offenses of the castles, where units were in some cases able to climb up sloped walls of the castles, that was so unique for the franchise. Women monk warriors! And most importantly Ninja agents, they were so cool, so powerful after getting some experience, animations were amazing, totally loved sending them to crazy missions and they aged so nicely that you would genuinely felt heartbroken after they pass away. Naval battles, for some reason I absolutely loved it, only game in the series I liked the naval battles in, it was something about those chunky, heavy, difficult to maneuver boats, the ways you could feel the change of wind, weight of the boat. Those script lines totally deserve to be preserved as cultural heritage )))
the best Total War after Rome Total War, My favorite> if is possible i want to see it on GoG I Have all the series disks till Shogun 2 but from empire it needs Steam account and online connection. What I like it is that included the naval battle . I played a couple of hours only because principle reasons. (You Play on Steam you dont own the game, tho you own the disk)

It was my first Total War game, that got me into series! The game itself had great aesthetics, well organised gameplay and challenging difficulty. The combat and management mechanics were also quite complex and made the game fast paced. The best part of this game was of course main campaign, that had many many ways to be played, but the additional campaigns were also incredible, especially Fall of The Samurai that introduced modern weapons and clash between traditional and new units and artillery too! It also had a proper naval warfare in my opinion. It was truly special for Total War series! This game was always worth replaying countless of times and I hope it will stay that way for future too!

The cleanest strategy game ever - this is not game, this is art. . If one total war deserves to be preserved forever, then it is this one... no other comes close...
The best Total War title post Medieval II. It combines everything good from previous Total War title into this one complete package called Shogun II Total War (sorry, the real name is Shogun II Total War before SEGA turn the franchise into yearly money machine).

Its one of the more solid titles from the franchise and definetly disserves to be added. The fact we have the first shogun without the second is baffling to me especially when we have both Rome and Rome II. Just make this right guys...
For the most part I only have played the custom battles mode for this game, but for the most part it was pretty good I don't know why only most of the new titles were added but not semi old titles like this.
Those games also need your vote!

Freelancer
FreelancerEight hundred years prior to the start of our story, bitter conflict divided all of mankind. A handful of colonists struck out on their own to begin anew - far away from the Earth and its turmoil. Several ships were launched with enough equipment and supplies to give the hundreds onboard a fighting chance - but since the area around far-off Sirius had never been surveyed, no one really knew what to expect. What they found was a new frontier of free-flowing natural resources, unexplored territories, great wonders and lurking dangers. Each ship, representing the clusters of people and their earthly place of origin, settled into different parts of the galaxy pre-selected by their ship-board computer to give them the best chance of survival. Life was hard in the beginning, but over the 800 years the different colonies prospered and expanded their territories, claiming more and more systems for their own. Survival and propagation eventually led to growth and profit as each of the colonies developed specialties and fostered commerce. As the colonies grew and time passed their connections with their roots on Earth dwindled and they lost their memories of the conflicts of the past. Soon their attention was dominated by new, more immediate conflicts. Feelings of lost ancestral connection spurred anachronism in the look of the great cities, and created a somewhat distorted image of each colony's cultural heritage. In the ever-expanding outer edge of the territories, frontier lawlessness prevailed. The Houses: Each shipboard colony that left Earth carried some memory of its origins in its name. The Liberty carried Americans, The Bretonia flew from The United Kingdom and surrounding territory, The Kusari from Asia, and the Rheinland launched with Germanic cargo. As each ship settled and colonies began to expand, they knew little about each other and their advancing development. Finally, little by little, the individual colonies found each other and began to set up trade routes to link their systems for commerce and solidarity. Today, with each colony firmly rooted in its respective corner of the galaxy, the colonies rely heavily on each other for trade and industry but also compete for resources and new territories in the Border Worlds. The colonies mandate member governments in "The New Alliance" within the Sirius sector. To control conflicts, each colony has forged alliances and treaties with others as they have grown. Competition remains fierce, however. Struggles rage for supremacy in business, commerce, resources, power and control. There can be tenuous peace between colonies' political agendas, but the grabs for holdings constantly unsettle the volatile frontier.

Black & White 2
Black & White 2In the game, the player takes the role of a god called from the void (nothingness) to help those who invoked them. However, the player is not an omnipotent style god, but rather a god who rises and falls with his believers and the player must help develop their nature according to their good or evil desires. The player also has a creature, their physical representation in the world, which takes the form of an anthropomorphic ape, lion, wolf, turtle, cow, or tiger. Its physical manifestation can grow to an immense size, and adopt a good or evil persona separate of the player's. They develop their character as the player rewards or punishes their actions. In addition to the god simulation and city-building elements introduced in the original Black & White, Black & White 2 also features elements of real-time strategy gameplay, with the addition of controllable warfare and fighting units.
